The Organoid Research Club Heidelberg (ORCH) is an initiative funded by the Heidelberg Center for the Environment dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange between organoid researchers based in Heidelberg and the surrounding area.
On November 20th, 2025 ORCH will host a day long symposium at the Marsilius-Kolleg on current developments in organoid research bringing together scientists working on diverse organ models as well as scholars who deal with ethical issues in this research. Confirmed speakers include Johannes Betge (DKFZ), Bangfen Pan (DZHK), and Kai Melde (IMSEAM). This event is aimed at researchers and scholars from all disciplines and career stages who have a particular interest in organoid research.
Registration is free, but required.
The event is followed by a public keynote lecture on “Collaborative Ethics & Cyborg Organoids” given by Jeantine E. Lunshof (Philosopher & Ethicist at Harvard Medical School).
