MolBio Students' Symposium
“Science Outside the Box”
Sep 29, 2021 - Oct 1, 2021
Online & Heidelberg
The Molecular Biosciences Symposium is held on an annual basis by students, for students. The last symposium was held in 2019 and was evaluated as a big success: approximately 100 students attended several lectures and workshops on Science Communication.
Therefore, the Molecular Biosciences Events Committee desires to continue this tradition with this year’s symposium. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we decided to organize a virtual symposium (29.09.2021 – 01.10.2021). This year’s topic is “Science Outside the Box”.
Our aim is to provide you with knowledge from various engaging fields of research we seldom encounter in our regular curricula, such as: AI in research, Astrobiology or Synthetic biology. For that reason, we invited international experts to give keynote lectures.
Apart from keynote lectures, specialists will hold workshops on interesting topics accompanied by interactive, extensive discussion in groups of 15-20 people. Thus, if you are interested in Science Communication, Open and Replicable Science, Networking Platforms or if you are struggling with mental health issues during your research project then “Science Outside the Box” is the ideal symposium for you.
Last but not least, we are really interested in promoting social and scientific outreach among us students. Therefore, a social program will be arranged after the lectures and workshops. In case the COVID-19 situation and public health measures allow small social gatherings in Heidelberg might be possible.
You will be informed about the platforms we will use well in advance. Please make sure to follow us on social media to receive latest information about the “Science Outside the Box” symposium and all the events that the Molecular Biosciences Events Committee may organize!
